Outreach Ministry Team

VEAP Back-to-School opportunity ~ The Outreach team invites you to participate in VEAP's 2010 Back-to-School program. It will help school-aged children and youth be prepared to learn by providing new grade-appropriate school supplies at the beginning of the school year.
Collections will be accepted at VEAP starting July 19 and ending August 16. If you are interested, you can drop school supplies off in the office, the VEAP box in the Narthex, or at the VEAP Office at 9731 James Avenue South in Bloomington.
In mid-July, school supplies will go on sale at local retailers. Watch for the bargains!!

Loaves and Fishes ~ It was a rainy evening but House of Prayer volunteers prepared and served 100 meals to our appreciative guests that came for dinner at Hope Church on June 1. Many helpful and skilled hands made the job easier. Thanks to all the willing House of Prayers volunteers from all of us on the Outreach Ministry Team and also from our guests who enjoyed this free service.
Each meal we prepared costs approximately $2.00. Our expenses are covered by your generous contributions to the Hope Fund. Our next service opportunity will come in January 2011 -- Yes... a ways off but watch for bulletin announcements next December - don’t miss the fun! Might be a good new year resolution to add to your list....
Your Outreach Ministry Team

Lectionary Bible Study... will resume in the fall.

"Bring Your Own Coffee Cup or Water Mug to Church" Initiative This will help save some styrofoam from going into the landfill and will also save our congregation money. What an easy way to leave your green footprint here at HoP. Don't forget to bring your mug next Sunday (and for the folowing Sundays.)
